VIDALA and dance

VIDALA and dance In 2017, the Argentinian choreographer and dancer Sol Buffet-Casal of the Libertango Company, based in Lyon, approached the trio for permission to use 3 tracks from their album as well as a title from their other group, “SoulAÿrès”. But very quickly, it became obvious that the three musicians would perform live in this “Heridas” creation, which combines tango dance, contemporary dance, circus arts, video and live music. At the choreographer’s request, Séverine SoulAÿrès revisited a magnificent tango, the highlight of this creation, which was premiered in April 2018 at the Sémaphore d'Irigny.

The complicity is such that VIDALA feels the desire, depending on the occasion, the place, the space, to associate these tango and milonga dances with the concert, thus punctuating 3 pieces at the end of the program, and to offer the public an original “after-concert”, a time of discovery and initiation to these captivating dances. Other moving views on this fascinating Latin America...

Sol Buffet Casal

Choreographer, dancer and teacher

Sol is Argentinian, born in Buenos Aires, where she learned to dance the Argentinian tango; it is also there that she followed her artistic training at the Ballet Argentino school, under the direction of Julio Bocca. Very young she left Argentina to dance and teach tango; she made several tours, workshops and tango shows in the company of internationally renowned dancers and orchestras, notably with "EL silencio" (Germany, Russia, as a dancer and actress. Since 2007 she dances and directs in Lyon the CIE LIBERTANGO, dedicated to artistic research and the transmission of Argentinian tango. Passionate about tango and dance; but also by a deep research around energy and the sacred, Sol has practiced yoga for many years. From this alchemy: Argentinian tango, yoga, theater... results an authentic tango, but multiple and powerful.
